Valtènesi Rosé 2018

Micaela Valtènesi Rosé is our first, uncompromising interpretation of a wine found only in this area. It is the result of a blend of native varieties: Groppello, Barbera, Sangiovese and Marzemino, using the technique of drawing off, with only a few hours of contact between the must and skins. The subsequent racking, performed by the expert hand of our winemaker, allows us to obtain freshness, temperament and the wine’s unique, distinctive hue.

BOLLE DI GIOIA

The refreshing, aromatic Bolle di Gioia Spumante Bianco Brut embodies the distinctive, graceful character of the Riesling grapes grown in our vineyards in Valtènesi. This elegant blend of Riesling Renano, Riesling Italico and Incrocio Manzoni is obtained using the natural sparkling winemaking method in pressurised tanks (Charmat method) with slow, low-temperature second fermentation for two months. It produces a surprising richness of flavour and a delicate, attractive sparkle. The perfect accompaniment to an aperitif with friends.

SAUVIGNON BLANC DOC

The Contessa Lene Sauvignon Blanc embodies our winemaking soul, rooted in Alto Adige. This high-quality product is the result of carefully hand-picked grapes from our vineyards clinging to the steep terrain in Terlano, in the homeland of Sauvignon, at an elevation of 400 metres above sea level. The sun and day-night temperature fluctuations help enhance its aromas and flavours.

Our wines are the expression of our love for a land ideally suited to viticulture.
Our guiding principle is care, first in the vineyards and then in the cellar. The grapes are picked by hand after careful selection, and our commitment to respecting nature and the vineyard’s natural ecosystem allows us to create natural, authentic, elegant wines.
From our consolidated plantings over 30 years old to those resulting from careful redevelopment, the 12 hectares of vineyards surrounding the farmhouse are the expression of native varieties and testify to the local wine tradition: Groppello Gentile, Barbera, Sangiovese, Marzemino, Riesling Renano, Riesling Italico and Incrocio Manzoni.

The Winery

OLIO EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Casaliva is a light, elegant, aromatic extra virgin olive oil. It harks from an area whose climate and traditions make it ideally suited for olive growing. Intensely green with shades of golden yellow, it shows well-balanced fruit with bitter and spicy notes, and a high polyphenol content.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Our Garda PDO derives from an elegant blend of Leccino and Casaliva olives. Leccino olives give this oil a yellow hue with green hints, a medium fruity palate, and a fine balance of sweet, bitter and peppery notes. Ideal for daily use, at the basis of a healthy Mediterranean diet.

Red Wine Vinegar

Our red wine vinegar is produced using wines from our red grapes, according to traditional artisanal techniques. This means static fermentation with slow acetification. Excellent for seasoning your salads, it can be paired with our extra virgin olive oils.

What makes Garda
olive oils unique

Conti Thun’s two extra virgin olive oils are the result of careful manual harvesting at the estates of Puegnago del Garda and San Felice.
They are light and fragrant, intense yet elegant.
Olive oil has been produced in the area for centuries, and what makes it unique is the typically Mediterranean climate of Lake Garda. We decided to employ the services of the historic oil mill of the San Felice del Benaco Agricultural Cooperative, the largest oil mill in Lombardy, with its long-standing local tradition, renowned for its attentive processing methods and high quality products.

Our grappa, obtained solely from Groppello grape pomace, is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques. Persistent and harmonious on the palate, it displays a slight tendency to sweetness. On the nose, aromas of vanilla and chocolate come to the fore.
